Associate Veterinarian

Colonial Manor Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time veterinarian to join our growing team in the southwest suburb of Homer Glen. Recent DVM graduates are encouraged to apply.

As a family-owned and operated, recently remodeled hospital, we have been part of the Homer Glen community since 1967. We are a full-service animal hospital and are solely focused on our core mission of practicing the highest level of veterinary medicine and performing surgeries for canines, felines small animals and exotics. We are an AAHA accredited practice and provide routine preventive care as well as major soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery (including TPLO), complete dental care, diagnostic ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and in-house laboratory.

An interest in orthopedic surgery is a plus. Interest in pursuing additional training is encouraged and supported.

Qualifications:

  • DVM/VMD Degree required
  • Licensure in good standing in Illinois

Veterinary Assistant (1 Opening)

Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Assistants work closely with our DVMs performing various tasks pertaining to all patient visits. Hours range from 22-24 hours weekly for part-time and 32-35 hours weekly for full-time. Candidates must be able to work day and evening shifts; we are looking for people who are self-motivated and detail oriented; veterinary experience is a plus. All applicants must provide professional references.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting veterinarians with appointments and treatments;
  • Run laboratory tests and use of hospital equipment including digital x-ray;
  • Caring for sick and hospitalized patients;
  • General hospital cleaning and maintenance, including animal housing areas;
  • Laundry

Skills Needed:

  • Ability to read and understand instructions;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients;
  • Basic computer knowledge/skills;
  • Able to learn basic medical terminology and properly document treatments as needed;
  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Obligations:

  • Able to lift and carry at least 50lbs without assistance;
  • Able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods of time;
  • Able to learn and utilize safety precautions for exposure of toxins, drugs, and radiation.

Availability:

Weekday and Evening Availability: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM;  Monday – Thursday 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Closing).

Weekend Availability: We are currently closed on weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
